The 2002 World Cup

The coming of the World Cup made people all over the world crazy. Everyone showed their feelings in different ways. In this picture, a student in Senior grade 2, class 2 has drawn the symbol of the world cup on his arm. As you can see from this picture, the pen tattoo of the world cup on his arm shows this senior student's love for football.

This picture was taken before the football match between the Chinese team and Costa Rica in the 2002 World Cup on June 4. You can see the excitement in our entire class of football fans. From their faces you can see all their hopes for the Chinese football team.

On this day, the Chinese football team was playing its first 2002 World Cup game. The boys are all fans of the Chinese football team. Everybody was very happy and acting crazy. They were saying, "Win, China! Win, China!" They drew the Chinese flags on their faces, and then they made their own flag and waved it around. We all believed, "China is the best!"

These are students from Senior grade 2, class 1 and class 2 getting ready to watch China play football in the 2002 World Cup. The match was China vs. Costa Rica. At the time they took this picture, they were very excited, but later on they felt very sorry in their hearts. They were excited first because China was able to help represent Asia in the World Cup. Afterwards they felt sorry because China lost the game 2-0. However, they will continue to stand behind their team, and always wish the Chinese football team the very best.
