Struggle

I like watching football matches very much. From them, I can understand what struggle is.

My class, Senior grade 1, class five, has a strong football team. There are thirteen players on the team. They are all good players.

In Senior grade 1's football league matches, my class's team did very well, though we didn't win all the games.

I'll never forget those matches.

The first match we played was against class 1. Class 1's football team is a strong team. They play football very well. We only thought that we would try our best to win, but I still believed we could do it. During the match, our players tried their best to win, but in the end, class1 won the game by one goal. We were a little sad. Our teacher said, "Don't worry, there are four games left! Don't be sad!" We knew: Failure at first brings later success.

The third match was against class 4. They weren't a strong team, but in the match, two of our players were hurt. One player's knee was bleeding. I was speechless when I saw it. After I bandaged his wound, he went on playing football. I knew he was in much pain, but he still persisted. When I saw him run on the field, I was moved. Maybe I understood what struggle is. In the end, we won this game by two goals.

The fifth match was very important for us. If we won this game, we would be the winners in Senior 1. We went all out to play. In the first half of the game, we were winning by a goal, but in the end, the game was a draw. Both teams scored two goals. During the match, it was raining, but they still ran in the rain. I think it was a wonderful sight. If I had a camera, I'm sure I would have taken pictures at that time.

The football league tournaments have finished for this season. I think our football team will do better and better in the future.
