We Need the Earth; the Earth Needs Us

In my wonderful youth, little baby me learned many things from hearing my grandfather's stories about Pan Gu in the time of the world's creation. "The light things rose and became the sky; the heavy things sank down and became soil, and that soil is the Earth we live on." Oh, it's always been like this, I realized and nodded my head. "The land was separated from the sky by the axe of the great giant Pan Gu." I asked many questions. Grandpa nodded his head and shook it. Time rushes by and I've gotten older, and I know that in the vast expanses of the universe, the Earth is the most beautiful planet. From astronauts' photos, we know that the Earth is a bright beautiful planet with blue and white stripes, and we can see that all around it is a thin little layer of blue the color of water.

The Earth is we human beings' mother and we're all cradled in her embrace. If we didn't have the abundance afforded us by this kind mother, we never would have existed in the first place. The Earth has raised us, so we should cherish her.

Factories' yellow smoke and black smoke usually cloud our sky. On the street, speedy compact cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles, on the highways from morning 'til night, put out tons of air pollution. This pollution changes the color of the land and the sky, destroying the purity and freshness of our environment. Not only this, but air pollution can bring other disasters. If dust is released into the air, flood waters will rise and cover entire cities, diseases will become more wide-spread, and so on. People are destroying the Earth for the sake of their own benefit. We will certainly be punished severely.

If the environment deteriorates and homeostasis is destroyed, people should feel terrible and everyone should take responsibility for protecting it. The Earth is people's beautiful homeland, and only a hundred percent effort can protect this big family. That can make our lives more wonderful and happy. Cherishing the earth is every person's responsibility. We are all amateur environmentalists, so the duties of history that we must take on are very great. So, we must lend a hand to protect our mother and contribute to her vitality and strength.
