A Day in the Life of a Senior 2 Student

Photos by Yin Wei, text by Senior grade 2, class 1 and class 2

The alarm clock in the picture is mine. My alarm clock always reminds me to wake up early. Sometimes I don't want to wake up, so I throw my clock into prison (i.e. I throw it onto the floor). In other words, my alarm clock is my lover and my helper. At other times, when I want it to, it will keep silent. I have fallen in love with my alarm clock!

--Yin Wei (Senior grade 2, class 2)

In the morning, I get up very early and I go to the Princess Bridge. I like the weather there very much. There are many hills and buildings, and many trees on the hilltops. You can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance, beneath the sky. They are the Gongga Mountains. On the other side is Paoma Mountain. The view is very good. In other words, Kangding is very beautiful, and I welcome you to Kangding.

--Ju Shi Bing (Senior grade 2, class 1)

This is the Kangding Middle School bus. We often go to school by bus in the morning. Mr. Li is a very good bus driver. Every morning we go to school by bus. In the evening, all the students talk with one another on the bus, and then at the end of the ride say goodbye to one another. The bus is not expensive--it only costs 1 yuan to ride. So we like to go to school by bus.

This is a picture of our classroom. In the picture the classroom looks very bright. There are many, many desks in the room, and many books on the desks, and also many windows. There is a student sleeping on the far end of the wall. Also, you can see many certificates hanging along the back wall.

I like to climb windows. When I'm in the window I feel very happy.

--Jia Jun Kang, (Senior grade 2, class 2)

The girl in this picture is my classmate, Ze Weng Zhi Ma. She is very lovely and funny, and in the picture she looks very small. This photo was taken in our classroom after PE class, and there is some water in her hair. She was fixing her hair! Ze Weng Zhi Ma is 16 years old, and she wants to make friends with everybody in the world! Her birthday is January 11. China is the oldest country in the world, and there are a lot of friendly people here. So, you're welcome to come to China, and please do come visit us in Kangding!

--Yuan Yan (Senior grade 2, class 2)

In this picture, a girl is sleeping on her desk because she is very tired. Most of the students at Kangding Middle School study very hard, as she does.

This is my photo. I am a student at Kangding Middle School. I like reading books, writing, and playing basketball very much.. In my class, I have many friends, and I also have a few homies. One day, all of Senior 2, Class 2 went to a Peach Orchard near Luding. I recognize Amy Chen. She is my homegirl.

--Li Pong (Senior grade 2, class 2)

In school we have a lot of homework every day, so after lunch, I always have to go to the classroom to finish it.

--Shu Qian Long (Senior grade 2, class 2)

This picture shows the blackboard in the back of the classroom, and the certificates of Senior grade 2, class 2. The certificates recognize all of our hard work.

Today, I am on duty, which means I have to clean the blackboard after class. In fact, I prefer reading books about the military. My studies are very good, and I think that I am clever. I'd like to make friends with everybody. My e-mail address is wayne1268@sina.com.cn. My hometown is Ganzi, a very lovely place.

--Zheng Yi (Senior grade 2, class 2)

In this picture, I am asking some questions about Chinese. Mrs. Du is the wife of our headmaster. I like basketball very much. When I met our teacher Amy, I knew that the world was very big, and I had to study lots of things, so I give many thanks to Amy, and I will never forget her.

--Ma Xiao Dong (Senior grade 2, class 2)

I can't find words to express how much I like this picture. Really, it's almost perfect. Class is over, and we are very happy. The students are all going home. They are very hungry, so they must hurry up to go home and eat something. Personally, I think that the classroom is not a very good place to be all the time.

--Qu Yan, Luo Jun, and Ge Rong Qu Chu (Senior grade 2, class 1)

Here is a group picture of the students from Senior grade 2, class 2. They are a particularly remarkable group of individuals, and I wish them all the best of luck next year in Senior 3.
