My American Teachers
A floating, disembodied image of Yang Ji Yong's head flanked by his teachers, Amy and Billie Amy and Billie of the United States came to Kangding to eat ramen noodles. They were very friendly. They thought that ramen noodles in China were not as good as ramen noodles in the U.S. Yang Ji Yong brought some ramen noodles over to eat with them. They talked and ate together, and were getting along very well. They ate very delicately. As soon as they had finished talking, an earthworm came crawling out of Yang Ji Yong's bowl. Yang Ji Yong was so frightened he tossed the bowl aside. After a little while, Amy and Billie saw that he didn't have anything to eat, and took some of their own money to buy him some new ramen noodles. Yang Ji Yong said to them, "Thank you!" Then he began to eat with great relish. They continued talking and laughing together, and were enjoying themselves very much. Suddenly, Wang Guang Ming and Ye Wen came walking up. They saw Yang Ji Yong, Billie, and Amy eating ramen noodles together and began to laugh. Yang Ji Yong and his American teachers were very embarrassed, and their faces became red. After ten minutes they had finished eating the ramen noodles, and they all walked together to the trashcan to throw away the ramen noodle containers. Then the three of them went off together with Wang Guang Ming and Ye Wen to play. ____________ Originally written in Chinese by Yang Ji Yong (Junior grade 1, class 3) Translated into English by Yang Ji Yong, Sun Hong Bo (Junior grade 1, class 1), and Amy Chen See this page in Tibetan |
