Our School

My name is Lihao. I study at Kangding Middle School. Our school is very beautiful.

Our school is 62 years old. It was started in 1939. It is the oldest school around here, so many people want to study at Kangding Middle School. It's at the foot of Paoma Mountain, near the Zheduo River. There are some high mountains around our school. There are many big trees in our school that are over 30 meters tall. We also have two big gardens in our school. We like to play in them. Of course, there are many flowers. Sounds beautiful, doesn't it?

Now, our school is much more beautiful than before. Many new buildings have been built these past few years. There is a very useful building called the "San Yong Tang," where you can play volleyball, table-tennis, and badminton. If it rains outside, you can have P.E. class in there. We play in it every day. This term, we have two new buildings. One is the laboratory building, where we can use computers and do science experiments. The other new building is a dining hall. It is much bigger than the old one, and it serves a lot of delicious food. Fried chicken is the most delicious, I think. We have two teaching buildings: one is for Junior Middle School students and the other one is for Senior Middle School students. Two buildings are enough for the over one thousand students in our school . Our playground is also very big. All the students in the school do morning exercises on it. Our school has many other buildings, like the teachers' apartment buildings, the students' dormitories, and so on.

Everyone in our school likes sports very much. Every day, many students play sports on the playground or in the San Yong Tang. The most popular sport is basketball. The students in our school play basketball after school every day. Every term, we have several basketball tournaments. They last for nearly a month. The most popular basketball star is Michael Jordan, I think. But now, he won't play basketball any more. We were sad about it. Football is also very popular in our school. We hold football tournaments every term, too. Other kinds of sports are very popular too, like table-tennis and badminton.

Pop music is popular too. Most students like it very much. The loudspeaker in our schoolyard plays pop music every day. I don't know who the most popular star is because people's favorite star always changes.
