Seasons in Kangding

My name is Lucky. Of course, that is my English name.

The name is from the song "Lucky" by the American star, Britney Spears. It's very wonderful, so I use this name as my English name.

My hometown is Kangding. I believe some people have heard this name before. The famous singer, Placido Domingo, sang "The Love Song of Kangding" in a music concert. Kangding is a small town of Sichuan Province in China. Paoma (Running Horse) Mountain is here. Kangding is very very beautiful. High and mighty mountains surround this town, and the Yala River crosses this town too.

My home's window is near the river. I can hear the sound from this river every day. It's very harmonious, and the river is very clear.

In spring, everything begins to grow. The weather gets warmer and the days get longer. The trees turn green and the flowers start to come out. Beside the river, there are some flowers with red, yellow, white, and so on. It's very beautiful. I usually see the birds flying along this river.

Summer here isn't hot. It is well suited for the traveler who travels on holiday. We have many many hot springs on the North side of Kangding. Summer is a good time of year for you to come visit!

Autumn is a busy season. The days get shorter and the nights get longer. It's harvest time, and all the farmers are very busy. The leaves turn yellow. Sometimes, on my way home, I pick the fallen leaves up and make them into bookmarks. They're nice and that's my favorite thing to do. In this season, we can eat some fruit like bananas, oranges, and apples. Sometimes we can eat tropical fruit, such as coconut, lychee, and so on.

The winter is very cold here. We have to put on warm clothes, or we will catch a cold. But in this season, it snows heavier and heavier! The land is covered by the snow, and it is white and very nice. Sometimes I will make snowmen or go skating with my friends. It’s a good time for my winter holiday.
