Friendship is a Boat

Friendship is like a boat on the sea. It rides up and down on the waves.

When the wind and the waves are calm, all is very leisurely. We throw the sound of laughter to the sea to catch fish. When we catch enough, we sail back to the warm harbor.

When it rains, we throw out the sound of laughter and cover ourselves in the air of laughter to call for help. When the rain stops, we set free the laughter into the far away arctic without hesitation.

The storm comes! The little boat once again throws the sound of laughter to cover itself. The wind is too strong, the rain is too heavy, the sound of laughter is broken by the storm and scattered by the wind. In the big waves, the boat barely stays afloat, like a swing, like a roller coaster, like...

The storm ends. The boat is broken. The boat's hull is floating on the sea; it has been hurt by the stormy friendship. Yes, it's been hurt, but the friendship has hurt others before.

Friendship doesn't need betrayal and dishonesty.
