My Hometown -- Guza My name is Zhang Jian Mei. This year I turned 16. I just entered Kangding Middle School, Senior Grade One. I am a Tibetan girl, and I like my ethnicity very much, which has a long history and a long tradition of customs and culture. ![]() I live in the town of Guza in Kangding County, a place at about 1600-2600 meters in altitude. There are white sheep, wide grasslands, and white clouds that float in the blue sky. It is a very harmonious scene. I enjoy singing while I drive the sheep to graze on the grasslands. Connected to the grasslands are lofty mountains. They link continuously one to another to the mountains lying next to the Dadu River. It is nature's special gift to my hometown. Between the mountains and the river you often hear beautiful mountain songs. The sound of the songs echoes and echoes in the valley and keeps traveling to far away places. When the sun falls below the mountains, the scenery contains too beautiful sights to count. Standing at the foot of the mountains, looking up, the sunlight slowly climbs up one side as the other side is already shadowed. This is because the mountains are very high. The high mountains are my hometown's future, my hometown's dream. I love my hometown. My hometown and I heartily welcome faraway travelers. ____________ See the original, written in Chinese by Zhang Jian Mei (Senior grade 1, class 3) Translated into English by Synphen Wu and Jiang Ling See this page in Tibetan |
